A primary school in Northumberland has recently opened a new forest school area.

Stamfordham Primary School officially welcomed pupils and parents to the outdoor learning space on Wednesday, June 12.

The area was generously funded by The Widdrington Trust, Christopher Rowbotham Charitable Trust and The Friends of Stamfordham.

The outdoor classroom includes a fire pit and a wildlife area, specially designed to help students enhance teamwork and build their resilience.

These facilities offer regular opportunities for outdoor learning as part of the student curriculum.

Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, led by the forest school lead, Miss McPherson, students engaged in various activities.

Attendees also enjoyed cream scones prepared by school kitchen staff, Pam and Janice.
