An event day commemorating the 70th anniversary of the founding of Stonehaugh Village will be taking place on Saturday, June 22.

The village, founded in the 1950s for forestry workers, will commemorate its inception with a fun-filled day.

In the morning, there is a group bike ride planned on the new Stonehaugh Reiver trail, meeting at Stonehaugh campsite at 10am.

Then from from 2pm, the events get underway, including a photo exhibition, classic vehicle display, Forestry Commission ‘Gruffalo’ trail, ranger activities from Northumberland National Park, tree surgeon and forestry machinery displays, local craft stalls and a village photo.

A barbeque at the village hall with local ales caps off the celebrations.
