A popular Hexham choir enjoyed a wonderful trip to Italy earlier this month, performing in world-famous venues.
St Mary's choir sang on the Basilica of Assisi's high altar on June 9 during Sunday mass, before heading to Rome to perform at the Venerable English College on June 16.
The choir has been led for more than two decades by music director, Paul Berry, and last visited the European country in 2022.
Mr Berry's choir also appeared at a midweek evening concert in Trequanda, where they sang North East folk music and pieces by Northumbrian composer, Fiona Lander, among others.
The choir's enjoyed performing at popular venues including the Basilica Superiore (Di San Francesco) in Assisi, Chiesa Di Trequanda and the Venerable English College in Rome.
The latter was founded in 1579 to train English priests after the Reformation and the Choir were treated to a very interesting tour of the College after singing at 10.00 Mass on Sunday June 16.
