The high sheriff of Northumberland, Lucia Bridgeman, will open the gardens of Fallodon Hall this weekend to raise money for charity.

The event will take place from 2pm to 5pm on Saturday, June 29 and Sunday, June 30, with proceeds going to both the Red Cross and the National Garden Scheme.

Fallodon Hall, which was once the residence of the Grey family of political repute, has been opening its gardens for charitable causes annually over the past 60 years.

Its grounds contain a cacophony of meticulously curated borders and woodlands, with an arboretum developed for the new millennium and vegetable patches enclosing a 17th-century walled garden.

Moreover, there are greenhouses and plentiful room to stroll.

Located six miles north of Alnwick, Fallodon Hall is easily accessible, and teas will be provided by local churches and Embleton School.

Entrance fees stand at £6 for adults, while children can enter for free.
