Newcastle Financial Advisers have announced the acquisition of a consultancy business.

As part of its ongoing growth strategy, the firm has acquired Keith Dyson Financial Consultancy, securing continuous access to trustworthy financial advice for as many residents in the region as possible.

Newcastle Financial Advisers Limited, a subsidiary of Newcastle Building Society, has confirmed the acquisition of the Hexham-based financial consultancy.

This move brings more than 300 clients into the company, ensuring they maintain access to face-to-face financial advice services throughout the Society’s network of 32 locations.

Keith Dyson, former Newcastle United footballer and founder of the recently-acquired business, said: "I was particularly impressed by the scale and ambition of Newcastle Financial Advisers Limited, as well as its commitment to and focus on building long-term relationships with clients, and knowledge and understanding of the products in the market."

After scoring for his team during the European Fairs Cup victory in 1969, Mr Dyson made a switch to financial services in 1994.

For 30 years, his consultancy has successfully dispensed pensions, life assurance, and investment advice to the North East.

Mr Dyson's clients will benefit from a wider range of locations to access in-person financial advice services following the acquisition.

He added: "While other banks and building societies are closing branches, Newcastle Building Society are growing and investing in theirs."

Iain Lightfoot, managing director of Newcastle Financial Advisers, said: "We’re pleased to be able to welcome Keith Dyson Financial Consultancy’s clients to Newcastle Financial Advisers Limited.

"Over the past 30 years Keith has nurtured a flourishing business and his focus on building meaningful, long-lasting relationships with clients is one that very much aligns with our own.

"This latest acquisition reflects our continued commitment to providing personalised, trustworthy financial advice that is accessible to all.

"Keith’s clients will benefit from continued advice and service via our experienced local advisers who are available face-to-face on high streets across Newcastle Building Society’s branch network, and also remotely via video call.

"Customers will also now benefit from our in-house support team who help our advisers in delivering great advice and providing all important ongoing customer service."
