THE owner of a handmade jewellery business is 'delighted' to open her new shop in Hexham.

LollaMac, a Northumberland-based handmade sterling silver and mixed metal jeweller, announced it will move into new premises on St Mary's Chare next week.

Founder and jewellery maker Clare Edwin has been based at the Forge Studios in Allendale for the past six years, crafting jewellery by hand whilst drawing inspiration from the rich landscape of rural Northumberland.

She uses traditional metalworking tools and techniques to create texture and form, transforming an unassuming piece of metal into wearable art.

"I’m absolutely delighted to unveil our new shop and studio, right in the heart of my home town of Hexham," said Clare. "This move marks an exciting new chapter for us, with our first dedicated retail and workshop space."

Some of her products include pendants with various gemstones and earrings combining silver and brass metals.

A highlight of the new site in Hexham will be an open studio where visitors can see the jewellery-making process in action.

There will be a dedicated area for hands-on jewellery-making workshops, inviting enthusiasts of all skill levels to explore their creativity under Clare’s expert guidance.

Current workshops include stacking rings, bangles and pendants.

The studio will also feature a boutique shop area, allowing visitors to browse and purchase from the entire LollaMac collection, each piece intricately handcrafted on the premises.

Clare added: "Hexham is a wonderful town with a vibrant community of independent retailers, and I’m incredibly proud to be joining them.

"I’ve been very fortunate to have built up a following of lovely local customers through the markets I’ve done in recent years. Having my own retail space has always been something of a dream; I can hardly believe it’s actually happening and can't wait to welcome everyone through our doors and share with them the magic of jewellery making."

The grand opening of LollaMac’s Hexham studio is scheduled for Saturday, June 29 and visitors are encouraged to join the celebration at 13 St Mary’s Chare, Hexham.
