Ryanair is launching new twice-weekly flights from Newcastle Airport to Marrakesh, Morocco, with fares beginning at £59.99.
The new service, commencing on October 27, is set to fly passengers to the bustling ‘Red City’.
Marrakesh is famed for its terracotta structures, alluring aura, rich history and beautiful palaces and gardens.
This adds to Ryanair's existing direct flights to 18 locations from Newcastle Airport, which includes Ibiza in Spain, Gdansk and Wroclaw in Poland and Milan in Italy.
Leon McQuaid, director of aviation development, said: "I am delighted to see further investment from Ryanair with the addition of new flights to Marrakesh from Newcastle Airport.
"Marrakesh has fast become one of the most popular destinations for holidaymakers who are attracted to the city’s stunning ancient architecture, bustling souk markets and amazing cuisine.
"This investment underlines Ryanair’s confidence in our airport and their commitment to providing even more choice for passengers."
With a recent £20m investment to enhance passenger experience, Newcastle Airport has redeveloped its security search area and renovated most of its lounge eateries.
The airport's executive lounge has also benefited from a multi-million pound redevelopment, becoming one of the 'flagship' Aspire Lounges in the country.
Flights are available for booking at www.ryanair.com and through the airline’s mobile app.
