The Bywell Castle Open Gardens event marked an all-time record, raising £4,519.28 for Tynedale Hospice at Home.

Lord and Lady Allendale hosted the charity event at their residence on behalf of the hospice, with attendees revelling under the sunshine and amid the blooming gardens on June 16.

Cathy Bates, fundraising manager for the hospice, said: "We could not be more grateful to Lord and Lady Allendale for all their hard work and kindness in opening their gardens which managed to raise this staggering amount of money for the care services the Hospice provide to the local community.

"This a record-breaking amount of money raised for an open gardens event.

"We are already planning next year’s event.”
