Work has commenced to install a wildlife-themed soft play area at Prudhoe Waterworld in time for the summer holidays.
The existing soft play, currently being dismantled, was closed last year due to its age.
It will be replaced with a fun, interactive, and safe playground for younger children to enjoy.
Prudhoe Waterworld opened in 1990, now attracting around 140,000 visitors annually.
The leisure centre offers a main pool, wave pool, gym, fitness studio, and a café.
The new soft play area is hoped to be a popular addition, offering hours of entertainment for families with young children.
Prudhoe councillor Gordon Stewart who represents the south ward said: "This major investment is being welcomed by the community, it will not only improve the experience of the families who directly use the facility but also local businesses and community groups.
"It is expected that visitors from outside the immediate area will now come to Prudhoe as a result."
