A NEW mother who tragically passed away was honoured with a football match which donated all profits to her family.

Hollie Lowes, 24, from Mickley, welcomed her first child Vinnie with her partner of 10 years Kieran Harrison, on December 28.

Vinnie was 17 weeks premature but her sister, Sophie, said Hollie stayed with Vinnie in the hospital 'day in and day out'.

"She loved nothing more than her new role as a mother, her life was complete," Sophie, 22, said.

Hollie suffered a heart attack on May 15 due to Wolff-Parkinson-White (WPW) syndrome, a congenital heart defect, which the family had previously been told would never be life-threatening to Hollie.

Her mother, Marie, and Kieran performed CPR immediately and her father Mark used a defibrillator to resuscitate her.

Hollie spent more than a week in Newcastle's RVI in the intensive care unit, but sadly died on May 24.

Sophie said the nurses in the unit were 'amazing' and were loved by the family.

Hollie passed with her family, Kieran’s family, and her best friends by her side.

She worked at Ferndene Hospital in Prudhoe, caring for children with mental health issues, and was said to have 'loved helping others'.

"She thrived with the teenagers and loved going into every shift. She was so loved by her colleagues and all patients. Hollie really loved making a positive impact at work," Sophie said.

After Hollie passed away, the family were contacted by their local Mickley Social, which holds an annual charity match. This year, they offered to dedicate it to Hollie.

The match saw Mickley FC play against Mickley Social on Sunday, June 23 at Mickley Football Ground.

Sophie said: "They have been so kind, they volunteered in all of the organisation and we raised over £2,500.

"The donation is incredible and will help us fund Vinnie's childcare as Kieran returns to work. We are so grateful for them as they helped take the stress away from that as we all grieve.

"She was loved by so, so many people and we are absolutely heartbroken by this. Our world will never be the same. Hollie was the most amazing person and everyone loved her. She was simply the best."

Sophie said Hollie mothered her and their younger sister, Ellie, from the day she was born.

"She often said she could not love something more than her baby if she possibly tried and it was amazing how her body had made something so perfect. She was always the loudest person in the room with laughter and there was never anything less than a smile on her face.

"She was so inspiring in her perseverance in everything in life, especially after Vinnie's early birth, she took everything into her stride. She just loved life and loved her family and friends. She was happy 365 days of the year. The perfect sister, daughter, partner, granddaughter, aunty, everything. She was just perfect," Sophie said.
