'Earth Defenders!', a new animated show, has launched at Life Science Centre.
The show at the Newcastle venue focuses on five satellites - NEOWISE, Biomass, CryoSat-2, MetOp, and Galileo - defending Earth from threats ranging from asteroids to climate change.
Partly funded by the UK Space Agency, Earth Defenders! is projected onto the largest Planetarium in the North, a 360-degree, domed affair that offers an immersive experience.
Life's chief executive, Linda Conlon, said: "We are incredibly proud of our team for creating such an innovative and captivating show.
"Earth Defenders! takes viewers on an extraordinary journey through space, showcasing how satellites play a crucial role in everyday life."
Other additions to Life include The Great North Time Machine, celebrating key inventions including George Stephenson's Geordie Lamp for miners.
For a hands-on experience, the Wow Zone features interactive exhibits.
