A dog died in a house fire attended by emergency services over the weekend.
A fire at Priestlands Crescent, Hexham, on Sunday, June 30 led to several emergency response vehicles attending the scene.
A Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We sent two officers and five appliances, and the fire was put out at 5.40am. Unfortunately, a dog did die as a result of this incident."
Gilesgate ward councillor Penny Grennan said: "Any house fire is terrifying and tragic and our thoughts go out to those involved."
