Two friends plan to walk 84 miles in just three days, to raise funds for mental health charities.
Adam Goodfellow and Jamie Siddle, both 40, will tackle the Hadrian’s Wall Footpath to raise money for Mental Health Matters and Tyneside Mind.
Both of the men tackling the route, which runs from Bowness to Wallsend, have struggled with their mental health.
Mr Goodfellow, an archaeologist living in Blyth and employed as a project manager for Rocket Heritage & Archaeology in Barnard Castle, said: "In the last year, I've been physically sick due to stress and anxiety, self-harmed, and thought about ending my life.
"Support from mental health services has helped me get past these low points.
"I want to help make sure that these services are available when other people need them."
Mr Siddle, a carer and Mountain Rescue volunteer from Eggleston, near Barnard Castle, said: "I'm supporting Tyneside Mind and Mental Health Matters on this walk as I have had to use mental health services myself during tough times.
"I have battled depression for a very long time, and with counselling, therapy, and medication I am winning."
The pair plan to complete the trek between August 9 and August 11.
