Hexham Abbey is set to be transformed into floral artistry for the Northern Saints Flower Festival.

Running from July 26 to 28, the historical abbey will be decorated with 21 huge floral displays.

These exhibits, each dedicated to a famous saint of the region, are crafted by members of flower groups from churches and clubs from around the county.

This festival is a key feature in a year-long programme of events celebrating 1,350 years since the Abbey's establishment by St Wilfrid in 674.

The event will showcase more than 100 flower group members displaying their creative craftsmanship, each using hundreds of flowers in highly innovative arrangements.

Ranging from the elegant simplicity of wildflowers to the sophistication of exotic species, the festival is set to be a celebration of nature's beauty.
