Beamish, The Living Museum of the North, has been hailed as the North East's 'most visited attraction'.
A VisitEngland report, states that visitor numbers at Beamish rose to 801,756 in 2023, making it the 17th most visited paid-for attraction nationally.
The surge in popularity coincides with the unveiling of new features including a 1950s cinema, shops, and a STEM learning space, as well as the Georgian Drovers Tavern and pottery.
Beamish’s chief executive, Rhiannon Hiles, said: "We’re delighted to be named the most visited attraction in the North East, and the 17th most visited paid-for attraction nationally."
She celebrated the museum's ability to draw over 801,000 visitors, praising the staff and volunteers for creating a "world-class" experience.
Ms Hiles added: “This is a testament to the work of our brilliant team of staff and volunteers, and comes at an incredibly exciting time for Beamish."
