Northumberland Wildlife Trust is marking fifteen years of osprey breeding in Kielder with a youth art competition.
Since 2009, Northumberland has seen 114 juvenile ospreys successfully hatch and settle in Kielder Forest and other locations across the UK.
The artwork competition, open to age groups under 14s and 14 to 19s, invites participants to submit a painting, drawing, photo, or small sculpture that features at least one osprey.
The competition runs from July 15 to August 15.
The prizes include a tour of Kielder Forest, a ferry trip around Kielder Water, and a Northumberland Wildlife Trust membership.
The winning artworks will be permanently displayed at the osprey cabin in Northumbrian Water's Tower Knowe Visitor Centre.
Joe Ford, Northumberland Wildlife Trust eco mentor and osprey watch co-ordinator, said: "Not only is this such an opportunity for young people to find out more about this wonderful bird, it's also a terrific way for them to fill the long summer holidays by channelling their energies into something creative.
“In addition to a marvellous set of prizes, the winners will have the joy of knowing their artwork, once on permanent display in the Kielder Osprey Cabin, will be seen by thousands of people."
