An art exhibition at Cheeseburn is returning this summer after a two-year break.
After eight years of hosting contemporary art, Cheeseburn Art is welcoming back visitors for two weekends, one in July and one in August.
This year, the exhibitions will feature not only sculptures but also sound art.
Artist Mike Collier and composer Bennett Hogg will be presenting a new body of work inside the chapel situated within the grounds of Cheeseburn.
Mr Collier said: "One of the things a visitor to Cheeseburn first hears is the rich and liquid sound of birdsong.
"It is a joyous and uplifting singing of the world as the air becomes enchanted with the song of blackbird, song thrush, wren, goldcrest, blue tit and many more birds.
"As Joseph Beuys said, in a world ‘where everyone talks too rationally, it is necessary for a kind of enchanter to appear’.
"Here, the enchanters are the birds."
Mr Collier's new series, made specifically for the chapel, and Mr Hogg's music will be a sensory delight for visitors.
Joanna Riddell, director of Cheeseburn Art, said: "I am delighted to welcome such a wealth of artistic talent to Cheeseburn this summer - the curation of Bennett Hogg and Tia Taylor Berry brings a new and fresh ambience which will encourage our visitors to personally engage with the fabric and nature of Cheeseburn, to immerse themselves audibly and visually with the installations and it will be a sensory delight."
Cheeseburn Art will also be featuring sound artist Tim Shaw.
Exclusive to the August weekend, Mr Shaw will present a sound walking performance, 'Ambulation', that transforms environmental sounds into a live field-recording performance.
Musician and sound artist Jorge Boehringer, also known as 'Core of the Coalman', will present 'Stable Stable', a constantly evolving sound installation.
Visitors can also experience the underwater soundscape created by David de la Haye's 'With Ears Underwater'.
Cheeseburn will also be unveiling a new collection of sculptures and installations, exhibited throughout the gardens for the 2024 season.
The open weekends are Saturday, July 27 and Sunday, July 28 and Saturday, August 10 and Sunday, August 11.
