Over 80 swimmers braved the chilly weather to fundraise for Tynedale Hospice at Home, by swimming across Sweethope Lough.
The courage of the participants led to a raise of substantial funds through registration charges, generosity, and proceedings from a cake stall arranged next to the lough.
This special event, held on July 13, was co-organised by Transcend Hair and Beauty Salon owner, Jackie Boylan, and outdoor swimming expert Fenwick Ridley of H2o Trails.
Transcend, having chosen Tynedale Hospice as its favoured charity, curated the unique swim event as a feature of their annual fundraising efforts for the Hospice.
Swimmers were given the option of choosing from a 600m, one-mile or two-mile route.
Both Transcend and H2o Trails teams coordinated volunteers and swim marshals, working hard to organise and promote such a large-scale event, providing everyone with an exceptional experience.
Ms Boylan said: "Between, H2o trails, Transcend Hair & Beauty and all the amazing swimmers that took part in our H2ope swim, we had the most fun-filled amazing day, despite the rain, everyone pulling together, for the sole purpose of raising money for such a brilliant charity.
"We couldn't have imagined raising £4,000 when we started planning this, but the generosity of everyone who took part and helped on the day has been incredible."
Matthew Crowe, fundraising and events officer at Tynedale Hospice, said: "The team at Transcend have been doing a great job, hosting a wide range of different fundraising events to generate vital income for the Hospice.
"We are so grateful to Jackie and H2o Trails for creating such a huge event to benefit our care services."
