Rock band The Quireboys are set to perform in Hexham this September.

Frontman Spike will lead the way in their Queen's Hall Arts Centre performance on Tuesday, September 24, as they launch their new album, 'Wardour Street'.

The album, which is dedicated to the band's co-founder Guy Bailey, will hit the shelves on September 13 via Cadiz Music.

Luke Morley, from the band Thunder, will join the band on tour, playing guitar.

Mr Morley has also helped to produce the album.

Following their early year single release 'Jeeze Louise', The Quireboys have released another single, 'Raining Whiskey'.

This features the vocals of Scottish singer-songwriter Frankie Miller.

Spike said: "Let’s cut to the chase, Frankie Miller is the singer’s singer, and the songwriter’s songwriter.

"Just ask Sir Rod Stewart, Willie Nelson, Elton John, Joe Walsh, the list is endless, even Ray Charles had a hit with one of his songs."

The album is dedicated to the band's co-founder, Guy Bailey.

Describing the album-making journey, Spike said: "This album has been both heartbreaking and amazing to make.

"I know Guy Bailey will be proud of the record, especially, having Luke Morley playing guitar, and for me to be singing with his favourite vocalist, Frankie Miller."

The show will begin at 7.30pm.
