ORGANISERS were thrilled that a popular Tynedale carnival was a hit again this year.
The Haltwhistle Carnival Committee has organised the town's show since 1991 when the committee was originally set up and has continued to organise and raise funds for the event.
It involves fancy dress competitions, a float parade and competition, entertainment from bands and performers as well as catering, a fun fair and a vintage vehicle display.
ITV Tyne Tees and Border weather presenter Ross Hutchinson presented trophies to the winning floats.
The carnival took place on July 14.
This year, Penrith's BJamba Samba Band led the float parade.
Many businesses and organisations sponsored the carnival, including Haltwhistle Town Council and Haltwhistle's Comrades Club.
The Black Bull, Seaside Travel and The Manor House Hotel were some of those which donated raffle prizes.

A spokesperson from the committee said: "Haltwhistle Carnival 2024 was a huge success despite the rain. We were lucky enough to have a dry hour whilst the parade took place and we estimate around 2,000 local people and visitors lined the route to cheer the floats on.
"We appreciate how many hours of work people spend on creating their floats, without local people making the effort there would be no Haltwhistle Carnival.
"The parade was led by the Samba and followed by the Carnival Princess (Hannah Taylor) and her attendants and then came an arrangement of wonderful floats. How to Train Your Dragon stood 12 feet high and won best overall.
"Other floats in the parade were Wizard of Oz, Disney, Under the Sea, Wonka, Paris Olympics, Haltwhistle Pride, 'It's Coming Home' and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The afternoon saw the heavens open however it did not dampen anybody's spirits.
"Ross Hutchinson from ITV News presented trophies to the winning floats. Hannah Lucy Stage School and Naomh Fionbarra School of Dance kept people entertained in the ring.
"The Cumberland wrestling was well attended with regulars and some new faces competing and to end the day, 'The Flooks' had everyone dancing in the rain.
"The Carnival Committee would like to thank everyone who supported us in putting on events, sold tickets, helped with field set up, litter picked and, of course, for the people who entered floats into the parade."
