Wark Town Hall is a vital community hub offering space for gatherings and clubs, seminars, events and celebrations.

The town hall is also an emergency resilience centre in case of local emergencies. The building requires constant maintenance and conservation, funded by grants and fundraising activities.

Jason Riches, chairman and trustee of Wark Town Hall, which organises the competition, said: "Scrufts went amazingly well, we had 62 dog entries, an almost 25 per cent increase on last year, and we raised £691.50 for Wark Town Hall charity. The rain stayed away and last year's soggy show was a distant memory.

"The wonderful event could not have taken place without the unwavering generosity of all our sponsors, volunteers, Wark Town Hall trustees, residents or our furry contestants. A huge thank you to all of you."
