THE constituency's first-ever Labour MP shared his plans for the future of his ward.
Joe Morris MP was elected Hexham's Labour MP in an historic win during the General Election on July 4.
The House of Commons has started its summer recess and will not meet again until September 2.
However, Mr Morris said he will spend this time 'working hard across the whole constituency'.
In his time in the House of Commons, he has written to government ministers on issues including the reopening of the Samson Inn in Gilsland and how the government will support businesses in rural and semi-rural areas.

When Parliament returns after summer, Mr Morris has secured an adjournment debate on access to banking in rural Northumberland.
"I’ll use this opportunity to make it clear to ministers, on the parliamentary record, the damage that not having access to a functioning bank branch is having to businesses and communities," he said.
He said he aims to be an MP for the whole Hexham constituency and is establishing his office and hiring staff to help constituents.
"I will work as hard as I can to deliver the change people voted for while always placing the people of the constituency first," he added.
