THOUSANDS of pounds were raised to support activities enjoyed by care home residents.

Havendene Residential Home held its annual summer fair on July 20 to raise money to support paying for residents' excursions and day trips to ensure they feel involved in the community.

Local businesses donated raffle prizes and hot food and different stalls were on offer.

"I want to be able to get the residents out and about and make sure we've got the resources in-house to keep them occupied. They love going out in the community and it means we can do things like going to the beach, so the funding would pay to take them on a bus," Kaisha said.

"They love going out and not being stuck inside. They love it when we have in-house entertainment in the building too," she said.
