A Northumberland ticket holder has claimed a £1million EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker prize.
Allwyn, operator of The National Lottery, confirmed the claim for the EuroMillions draw on July 23.
The EuroMillions Millionaire Maker guarantees a millionaire in every draw.
UK players receive a EuroMillions Millionaire Maker code printed on their ticket for every EuroMillions line played.
The claim will now go through a validation process to ensure compliance with the Games Rules Terms and Conditions and to protect the integrity of The National Lottery.
Subject to validation, the prize will be paid at an appointment with one of Allwyn’s winners’ advisers.
After the ticket has been validated and paid, the ticket holder can choose to go public and share the news.
No information will be disclosed about whether the winner is an individual or syndicate, or where the ticket was purchased.
Andy Carter, senior winners’ adviser at The National Lottery, said: “We are so happy that this lucky ticket-holder has finally come forward and claimed their fantastic prize.
“The possibilities are endless now that they are officially a millionaire, and we hope they have lots of exciting plans for this life-changing win.
“It’s now our job to support this ticket-holder through the process – we support each and every National Lottery winner in the same way – and we will do this as quickly as possible to ensure that they can very soon begin to enjoy their win.”
Players can check their tickets online via the National Lottery app or at national-lottery.co.uk.
