CONSENT has been given for a Certificate of Lawful Development at flats in Haltwhistle.

Planning approval was sought to install PV panels on flats 1, 2 and 3 Garden Terrace in Haltwhistle.

An agent from the planning company All Seasons Energy Ltd submitted the application to Northumberland County Council.

The application explained why the proposal to alter any buildings on the land is lawful: "The building has been long established as a residential property and all three flats have had postal addresses for at least 10 years and the works proposed are permitted development."

A delegated report was published which said a Certificate of Lawfulness of Proposed Development is to be granted at flats 1, 2 and 3 Garden Terrace, Haltwhistle to install 18 solar PV panels to the south-facing roof slope.

It said: "The Local Planning Authority is satisfied that, the works as shown within the submitted details, constitute permitted development under Schedule 2, Part 14, Class A of the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) (England) Order 2015 (as amended)."
