TWO friends will embark on a European road trip to fundraise for charity.
Business owners Jon Labella, of The Street Diner in Hexham, and Connagh Scott of The Milecastle Inn in Haltwhistle, will travel through 12 countries for The Motoscape Banger Rally, raising funds for charity.
The concept of the Motoscape Banger Rally is to buy a car for £999 or less, turn it into an eye-catching masterpiece and drive it on some of the greatest roads in Europe.
The pair, who both live near Hexham, will set off on their road trip on Friday, August 30 and are designing their 'banger' in the theme of 'Barbie and Ken'.

The Motoscape Banger Rally describes itself as 'the ultimate banger rally experience' and began in 2006.
The Motoscape's routes take approximately five hours of driving per day to complete, leaving participants time to see some of the places highlighted in each country.
Jon and Connagh aim to raise at least £2,000 and have set up a Just Giving page.
Jon said: "This year, Connagh Scott and I entered a banger rally where we had to buy a car for less than £999 and drive it through 12 countries in seven days.
"In a bold move at a car auction, we managed to grab a four-litre supercharged Jaguar XJ8 for £900 which should do the job nicely."
Jon and Connagh couldn't decide which charities to donate to, so they agreed to let the public choose where their funds went.
"I always wanted to do a road trip across Europe and we’ve set up a Just Giving page for people to select a charity of their choice," Jon added.
When you donate on their Just Giving page, comment to choose your charity. The charities will go into a hat and the one with the most votes will be chosen at random once they reach their destination in Prague on the final day, which will be on September 6.
The 12 countries they will travel through include the UK, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, Italy, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
