Hexham MP Joe Morris paid a visit to two pubs owned by Admiral Taverns to talk about the 'vital role' that pubs play within the community.

Mr Morris met with the pubs' licensees and Admiral Taverns CEO, Chris Jowsey.

Mr Jowsey said: "It was a pleasure to host MP, Joe Morris at both The Coach and Horses and The Fox to meet our fantastic licensees Fiona and Robbie and hear first-hand the support they provide to their community.

"It was also brilliant to showcase our biggest refurbishment to date at The Coach and Horses, where we invested over £700,000.

"Community pubs are an integral part of the UK's social tapestry and both Fiona and Robbie work extremely hard to ensure their pubs thrive within their communities.

"It was a good opportunity to show the Government how we can work together to drive growth across the UK through our industry.

"I look forward to further conversations with Joe in the future."

"Pubs play an important role in our community as places for us to gather, to be with friends and family, to celebrate and to commiserate.

"We discussed the challenges facing community pubs and the hospitality sector as well as their role as an employer in the constituency.

"This government is committed to supporting pubs and as the MP for Hexham, I will champion the brilliant venues our constituency has to offer."
