Hexham Community Grocery has benefitted from the addition of two laptops.
Councillor Suzanne Fairless-Aitken, representative of Hexham East, financed the much-needed technology for the service.
Dale Dawson, manager of the Community Grocery, said: “Councillor Suzanne Fairless-Aitken has been a great supporter of Hexham Community Grocery, she has financed the purchase of two laptops which are essential for the smooth running of the grocery and our wrap around support for our customers & the local community.”
Hexham Community Grocery provides fresh fruit and vegetables, tinned goods, baked items, frozen food, sanitary and household items.
Councillor Fairless-Aitken said: “I am always happy to help the Community Grocery and its wonderful volunteers however I can, especially in this continuing cost of living squeeze where household budgets are strained to the point where many of my residents rely on the reduced price groceries to feed their families.
“I am hopeful that this current crisis will eventually ease, but until then anything I can do to help please get in touch – suzannehappierhexham@gmail.com.”
