A personal trainer in Hexham has given up her career to launch a new fitness and nutrition workshop to help residents tackle a range of health issues.
Kim Richardson, from No Limits Gym, made the decision after facing her own challenges with mental health and early menopause.
She explained: "I realised how hard it was for me over the last few years to keep fit, eat well, and stay positive after going through early menopause, gaining 2.5 stone, and suffering the loss of a family member.
"This is why I have launched my workshops.
"I feel the best I have felt in years after really focusing on my health and putting everything I know into practice again, and I want to help others feel great too."
The first workshop is Friday, September 13, from 11am until 12pm, and the second one is an evening session starting on Thursday, September 19, from 6.30pm until 7.30pm.
The workshops aim to introduce healthy lifestyle habits, individual nutrition coaching, and exercise for beginners over a six-week period to give people the "kick" they need and the support to start feeling amazing.
Lisa Thompson, owner of No Limits Gym, said: "I see people all of the time struggle with the idea of joining a gym class or walking into the gym.
"We strive at No Limits to create a comfortable environment in the gym, and we would like to support everyone who walks through our doors.
"Working alongside Kim to host these workshops is the ideal place for people to start their journey with us."
The workshops cover everything from forming new habits, meal plans, strength classes, boxing, confidence-building exercises, goal setting, and more.
Ms Richardson is a strong believer in small steps leading to big changes.
She said: "I really like to focus on the small changes people can make that yield big results.
"I don’t believe starting a restrictive diet and doing a ton of cardio that you hate is the best way forward, it is not sustainable or fun."
