EMERGENCY services responded to reports of concerns for a man's welfare this morning.
Northumbria Police and ambulance crews are at the scene on the banks of the River Tyne 'close to Wylam Bridge'.
Services are still at the scene.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly before 11am today (Thursday, September 12) we received a report of concern for the welfare of a man close to Wylam Bridge, on the banks of the River Tyne.
“Emergency services are in attendance.”
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident this morning in Wylam at 11am. We dispatched two ambulance crews, one Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) crew, and a clinical team leader to the incident."
