A charity's Great North Run fundraising has garnered almost £5000.
WECAN (We Enable Children and Adults with Additional Needs) raised £4948.25 in total for the run, with WECAN participants on the big day ranging from half-marathon beginners to all-weather experts.
Stephanie Wilson, Zorina Horsley, Colin Simpson, Georgia Findlay, Lucy Dodd, Catherine Dodd, Joel Dodd, and Peter Holmes were all thanked, as were Kirsty Jackson and Stephen Holmes.
The coaching efforts of Charlie were also thanked, with one of the runners saying: "I would not have done it, if it wasn't for Charlie."
Runners wore specially branded WECAN vests and bags, which were sponsored by Hannah Finnigan, who runs a dance school in Haltwhistle called Hannah Lucy Stage School; Pete Surridge, director of Ridgetek Web Solutions; and Charlotte Dodd.
The Hexham-based charity was established in 1996 and provides day service, Saturday club, and holiday schemes for children, young people, and adults who have learning and physical disabilities, autistic spectrum disorders, challenging behaviour, and other complex needs.
