Mr Murphy said: "This is the first event of its type in the Tyne Valley. There are food and beer events but nothing for wine, though we know there are many wine enthusiasts locally, so we wanted to put something on for them to enjoy, whilst showcasing wines they had not perhaps tried before.

"There are many places people can buy wine from, including the supermarket or online, but we are three local businesses based in the Tyne Valley that are able to provide a more personal service and support customers in their wine journey.

"There will be 75 wines to try with experts on hand to lead people through the tastings, offering advice and direction," he added.
