An NHS chief executive is set to skydive for charity.
James Duncan, chief executive of Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust (CNTW), will leap from 18,000 feet on Saturday, October 12.
The daring plunge, which will take place on Mr Duncan's birthday, aims to raise funds for SHINE, which provides therapeutic activities and items of comfort to CNTW patients.
The skydive at Grange-over-Sands in Cumbria will see Mr Duncan follow in the footsteps of his son Will, an army parachutist.
Mr Duncan's other son Eddy, who works for CNTW's subsidiary, NTW Solutions, will also be jumping on the day.
Mr Duncan said: "I’m feeling intrigued, excited, and terrified all at the same time.
"I’m fundraising for SHINE because we do great work through the charity for people and I hope my profile can spread the word and encourage more fundraising."
