AS the spookiest night of the year approaches, we looked back at the event over the years.

Spook Night in Hexham will take place this year on Saturday, October 26 from 2pm until 9pm in the marketplace, Beaumont Street and Abbey grounds.

Mad scientist Archie Turnbull came second in the under 8's fancy dress competition at Hexham Spook Night in 2014.

In 2019, Lola Whitbread and Ava Lancaster dressed up in costumes inspired by Day of the Dead.

Large crowds gathered around the bandstand where they were captivated by spooky dancing, during two impressive and atmospheric performances by the Studio K dance group that year.

Meanwhile, the ghoulish Hexham Skull Trail will take place this year at the Old Gaol on Hallgate from October 16 to November 3 and is inspired by the gruesome history of the Old Gaol and the museum collections. 

Spook Night is organized by the Hexham Community Partnership in conjunction with M&C Funfairs.
