Prudhoe Town Council has announced the success of its summer free family swim sessions.
The initiative, launched in August and supported by Places Leisure, provided free swimming opportunities at Prudhoe Waterworld.
Each session included 30 minutes of essential water safety knowledge, followed by 30 minutes of engaging water activities.
The initiative was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from the community, with families enjoying the opportunity to spend quality time together.
Councillor Angie Scott, mayor of Prudhoe Town Council, said: "We are thrilled with the response and proud to support families during what can be a costly time when entertaining children over the long summer break."
The council expressed gratitude to Places Leisure and the staff at Prudhoe Waterworld for their support in making the sessions possible.
Councillor Scott added: "This initiative has been a wonderful success, and we hope to offer similar sessions in summer 2025."
The council is keen to hear from the community and welcomes any feedback.
