Three graduates from the Essity Paper Mill in Prudhoe are set to complete the final stage of the company’s GO Manufacturing Programme in Mannheim, Germany.
Tom Black, Ciaran McClelland, and Chengyi Xu, who have been working in papermaking and converting at the mill, will undertake a three-month training programme focused on Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) at Essity’s Centre of Excellence in the Baden-Württemberg city.
The GO Manufacturing Programme is a two-year training initiative designed to develop practical skills and in-depth knowledge of Essity’s systems, preparing graduates for key roles in the business.
Throughout the programme, the graduates have been involved in Prudhoe Mill’s operations, gaining hands-on experience with tissue production processes and the company's manufacturing and maintenance strategy.
Lesley Welsh, continuous improvement manager at Prudhoe Mill, said: "Essity's GO Programme fast-tracks graduate talent, equipping them with the skills needed to advance in a rapidly changing industry."
On returning to the Mill from Mannheim, the trio will be involved in supporting the site’s TPM and Equipment Ownership journey.
