AS the highlight of autumn approaches, we looked back at pumpkins on our patch through the years.

Halloween in Hexham involves a variety of events, from the ever-popular Spook Night to competitions and children's activities such as Haunted Halloween Decorations at the Old Gaol.

Spook Night sees attractions such as a funfair, hot food and drinks, pumpkin and turnip carving, a spooky photo competition and spooky dancing around the bandstand to name a few.

There are also spooky films, storytelling, dance displays and more.

The event will take place this year on Saturday, October 26 from 2pm until 9pm in the marketplace, Beaumont Street and Abbey grounds.

We looked back at our archives through the years to find out all about the pumpkins which have come through our patch, from costumes to carvings.
