Three North East restaurants have been ranked in the top 10 per cent worldwide.
The Northumberland Arms in Felton, The Blackbird in Ponteland, and Lovage Jesmond in Newcastle have each been awarded a 2024 Travellers’ Choice Award by Tripadvisor.
The venues received the award based on positive reviews from visitors.
The Northumberland Arms and The Blackbird are owned by Northern Bar Management while Lovage Jesmond is an associated business.
The Travellers’ Choice Award is given to establishments that have provided excellent experiences to visitors around the globe.
These establishments are recognised for their high ratings and positive traveller reviews over the past year.
Each of these venues is dedicated to using locally sourced produce and regularly updates their menus to reflect the availability of seasonal ingredients.
The Northumberland Arms has gained a reputation for its wide range of food offerings, including pub classics, street food, and sandwiches.
These are served in either the restaurant or the beer garden, which offers 'stunning views' of the River Coquet and a 16th-century bridge.
The Blackbird, said to be one of the oldest inns in the North East, is popular with food lovers for its 'dishes which combine creativity with classic flavour combinations'.
Lovage Jesmond, despite being relatively new to the restaurant scene, has made a strong start since opening two years ago under the leadership of chef and co-owner Kleo Tabaku.
It was included in the Michelin Guide last year and in the summer it was awarded an AA rosette for culinary excellence.
Stuart Young, of Northern Bar Management, said of Lovage Jesmond: "So, this latest accolade in the form of a Travellers’ Choice Award, really is the icing on the cake.
"And that goes for The Northumberland Arms and The Blackbird as well.
"They each take great pride in serving the finest ingredients, confidently and creatively cooked and prepared - and these awards reflect just how much that matters to our customers.
"Being named in the top 10 per cent of restaurants worldwide is a fantastic achievement and testament to the hard work of our staff at each venue, who go above and beyond to ensure that our customer service is the best it can be."
