Geology enthusiasts are invited by NCDC to new sessions at Lambley Village Hall near Haltwhistle.
Alison Broomhead, a geologist from the area, will host the classes which cover topics such as fossils, rocks, and geological mapping.
Sessions are held on Tuesdays from 7pm to 9pm.
The first class on October 22 dives into the 'intricate nature' of the structures of fossils and includes a chance to draw ammonites and bivalves.
November 5 will see attendees focus on reading and interpreting geological maps, and the November 19 and 26 sessions will be linked and dedicated to identifying and recording rocks and minerals.
A field trip programme is planned for the new year.
