A repair café is set to introduce a new service to help people with their wardrobe problems.

Transition Tynedale's second Just Fix It repair café will be held on Saturday, November 2, at Trinity Methodist Church Hall in Beaumont Street, Hexham.

The event will run from 10am to 1pm, with the last item accepted at 12.30pm.

The Just Fix It volunteer fixers aim to mend small household items such as electricals, sewing, darning, and knitting projects.

They also provide advice about IT, joinery, and musical instruments.

If an item cannot be repaired due to a need for a spare part or built-in obsolescence, alternatives will be discussed.

This project offers 'creative solutions' to wardrobe problems, such as altering 'out-of-fashion' dresses or favourite clothes that no longer fit.

Just Fix It co-ordinator Lowri Potts said: "Just Fit It is a new venture with exciting possibilities; maybe one day we’ll be able to hold a fashion show of our re-creations."

The café has also booked more space to accommodate the fixing of items with wheels.

People are encouraged to bring in their bikes, prams, scooters, rollator mobility aids, shopping trolleys, and spare parts for repair.

Voluntary cash donations to help with costs are welcomed.

More repairers and hosts are also welcome.
