A stolen car from Hexham was discovered by Durham police at a KFC drive-thru earlier this week.
At around 8.30am on Thursday, October 17, Durham Constabulary received information from colleagues at Northumbria Police that a stolen car was heading south into the Durham area.
Officers flooded Spennymoor and spotted the car as it headed for KFC drive thru at Thinford.
Teams from Durham Roads & Armed Policing blocked the driver in from either side and stopped him from making an escape. The man was arrested on suspicion of theft and several other driving offences. An investigation is now ongoing.
