More than 400 people attended an event showcasing sustainable energy solutions and electric transport options.
Hexham Town Council's second Combined Home Energy and Electric Vehicle event was held in the Hexham Abbey car park and was hailed a 'success' by organisers.
The event allowed people to meet with suppliers and experts from the industry.
Hexham Library was also used at the event, hosting suppliers such as H.E. Service Ltd, JP Westall Ltd, MGWilson Energy, Tyne Valley Wind and Solar, and HE Servicing.
The event allowed people to speak to experts, ask questions, and learn about various sustainable energy options including solar panels, home batteries, heat pumps, and wind energy.
Rideelectric also showcased their electric bikes as a sustainable commuting option.
Electric vehicles were also showcased at the event, giving people the opportunity to explore the different options available.
The display featured a wide variety of cars, including Nissan Leafs provided by Wylam Garage, MG4s courtesy of Arnold Clarke Hexham, Mokka-E and Corsa-E from BristolStreet Motors, and a range of iBMWs from Lloyds Group, Newcastle.
Councillor Mike Domingue said: "We are thrilled to see such strong interest in sustainable energy solutions and electric vehicles here in Hexham.
"Events like these not only raise awareness but also provide practical resources and support for residents looking to embrace a greener lifestyle."
The event is part of a broader push to reduce costs, emissions, and dependence on foreign, unstable energy markets.
The council hopes that initiatives like the Combined Home Energy and Electric Vehicle event will help show civic leadership in supporting residents to address global issues in their own communities.
It also serves as a platform to showcase businesses that can assist in this endeavour.
The event 'was appreciated by both the public and the suppliers and businesses' that participated.
The council expressed gratitude to the volunteers and residents who helped promote and steward the event, and hopes to organise more similar events in the future.
