A rare weather phenomenon was photographed in a Tynedale village during the weekend.
A moonbow, also known as a lunar rainbow, was spotted by five-year-old Annie and seven-year-old Josie Chapman.
The moonbow was photographed at 8.45pm on Sunday, October 20 from Hedley on the Hill.
According to the Met Office, moonbows are an optical phenomenon caused by the light from the moon being refracted through water droplets in the air.
The amount of light available even from the brightest full moon is far less than that produced by the sun, so moonbows are incredibly faint and very rarely seen.
