A Haltwhistle woman celebrated her 96th birthday with friends.
Doreen Harrison marked her birthday, October 15, at the Haltwhistle Partnership drop-in session.
A professional cake-maker-turned-retiree, Anne Mitchinson, presented her with a birthday cake.
The gathering sang happy birthday as Mrs Harrison cut the cake, which was then shared out between everyone to enjoy.
Mrs Harrison was born in 1928, nearly 11 years before the start of WWII.
In her professional career, she was a model and manager of a Haltwhistle dress shop, and her late husband was a local policeman.
