A memorial has been unveiled for two RAF flight lieutenants who died in a plane crash 25 years ago.
Flight Lieutenants Dicky Wright and Sean Casabayo lost their lives on October 14, 1999, when their Tornado GR1 crashed into farmland during a training exercise.
The men crashed between the villages of Ingoe and Kirkheaton, 15 miles from Newcastle, after their aircraft lost control in challenging weather conditions.
The crash left a lasting impact on the families, friends, and the RAF community.
While both men have individual gravestones, there had not been a formal memorial to them both near the crash site until now.
On October 14, 25 years to the day since the accident, a memorial stone was dedicated in the men's honour near the crash site.
A service took place attended by more than 100 people.
Martin Wintermeyer, project organiser, said: "The dedication service was a beautiful mix of formality and heartfelt remembrance.
"We had family, friends, military and civic representatives, and many locals who all came to pay their respects.
"The stone, crafted from local sandstone, is a fitting tribute to two much-loved aviators.
"It was long overdue, but it was done right."
The memorial was commissioned in collaboration with Art of Stone Memorials of Blyth.
