A record shop was 'buzzing with anticipation' as it opened its doors for a free live event.
Snap! Records, Hexham's vinyl record store, hosted its first 'Snap! Live' event, transforming the heart of Market Place with an evening of 'music, nostalgia, and community.'
Store owner and music enthusiast, Jamie Harwood, performed a solo set, while post-punk indie band Quarterlight 'captivated' the audience with their 'unique sound.'
Mr Harwood said: "I've been buying and selling records since the 90s.
"It all started with a small space upstairs, the 'Vinyl Attic,' and grew from there.
"When the opportunity to expand to the street-level space arose, we took it.
"The support from the community has been incredible, and there’s a strong following for vinyl from people of all ages."
Mr Harwood, who previously played with the band Early Maze, now occasionally performs solo.
Reflecting on the event, he said: "Playing live is a great way to connect with the community.
"We’re hoping to hold more live gigs here at Snap!, bringing in different bands from around the region.
"People can come in, browse records, and enjoy live music in a relaxed, friendly setting."
Snap! Records also stocks CDs and vinyl albums from unsigned artists and bands, and local performers are welcome to bring their product to sell in the shop.
Quarterlight, hailing from Gateshead and County Durham, added to the atmosphere with their post-punk indie style.
Their new album 'Head Buried in the Clouds' has just been released.
With plans to continue the Snap! Live events periodically, Snap! Records is 'excited' to offer an inclusive venue for live music, where music lovers can 'gather to share their passion' for vinyl and local talent.
