WE looked back at the town's successful display celebrating November 5.

This year's event is being organised by AH Events on behalf of Hexham Town Council. Hexham Rotary Club, Tynedale Lions and Hexham Community Partnership have worked with town clerk, Andrew Gooding, on planning and fundraising.

Tickets are available for a £5 donation. All stewards will have raffle tickets available and there will also be a table set up at the Bandstand so that people can donate by card.

The fireworks were choreographed to music for the first time in 2023.

The event at the Sele normally brings thousands of people from across the region to Hexham, and raises tens of thousands of pounds for local charities in the process.

In 2022, Hexham Rotary Club, in association with the Lions, Mountain Rescue, golf club members, Hexham Town Council, Hexham 41 Club and many others enabled nearly £10,000 to be raised for the 2023 event.

A JustGiving page has been set up by Hexham Rotary for those who can’t attend this year but want to show their support. Donations can be made via justgiving.com/campaign/hexhamfireworks2024.

Mayor Derek Kennedy said: “All money raised – whether through cash donations, the JustGiving page, the QR codes or the raffle - will go towards funding next year’s display. Any surplus will be distributed to local good causes once the costs of the 2025 display have been met. It’s going to be a great event and we hope that the hard work of the volunteer fundraisers pays off.”
