An author has launched a novel exploring the untamed Wild West.
Freelance writer Emma McKenna, who attended Allendale First and Middle Schools and Haydon Bridge High School, has released her book, No Good Deeds.
The book, which is available on Amazon, follows the story of Annie Schaeffer, who is no stranger to violence. Born of an outlaw father, she was sold to a travelling show at age six and is finally escaping as an adult.
On the run and wounded, she finds an unlikely ally In Nathan Healey - a member of the Needham Boys gang.

As she earns her place among the outlaws; Annie’s survival hinges on her lethal skills and growing bond with Nathan.
Annie's quest for independence takes a dark turn as the gang begins to collapse. Betrayal runs deep, and the cost of trust is high.
Emma attended the University of Kent in Canterbury and qualified in English and American Literature with Creative Writing.
