The Monster Ceilidh Band will put on a special Christmas show in Allendale this December.
The electro-folk group, known for their unique fusion of traditional and modern music, will bring their festive spirit to Allendale Village Hall on December 7.
This will be their first-ever Christmas ceilidh show.
The band is known for their high-energy performances, combining traditional ceilidh music with electronic beats, rock, and funk.
Their innovative sound has made them favourites at UK and European festivals for more than 12 years.
Martha Buckley, from Folk Radio, said: "They are a band which pushes the boundaries of contemporary folk in all the right directions.
"Monster Ceilidh Band never retreat into a pastiche of funk , rock, metal, drum and bass or folk.
"Their synergy respects all genres, and this results in a sound that is both credible and really good fun."
The band will be joined at the Allendale show by Josie Duncan, Saul and Heather Rose, and the Storyteller Street Band.
The band features talented accordion and violin players supported by mandolin, bass, drums, and laptops.
Over the years, their powerful Celtic folk fusion has caught the attention of many major UK and European festivals.
Their last album, Mutation, received extensive play on BBC Radio 2 and led to a live performance for Kathryn Tickell's Old New Year's Night Celebration.
This collaboration was a success and led to band members being invited to play in Kathryn's new project, The Darkening, which was nominated for a BBC folk award.
The band continues to enjoy success with the release of a second album that debuted at number four in the folk charts.
In 2023, the band welcomed Shetland-born fiddler Catherine Geldard for their fifth album, We Are The Monsters.
The band's compositions are augmented by D’n’B producer The Touch and Ivor Novello-nominated electronic experimentalist and bassist David de la Haye.
They aim to create a crucible for smelting riffs, chord progressions, intense electronics, folk tunes, and various styles, backed up by the UK’s finest folk musicians.
Doors open at 7.30pm.
Tickets are priced at £15 for adults, £5 for under 16s and under 5s go free.
