Aldi is asking customers in Northumberland to nominate local charities and food banks for a share of its Winter Fund.
The supermarket chain will donate £10,000 to charities across the country to help communities in the run-up to Christmas.
The chosen charities will receive cash donations to alleviate some of the pressure during the increased demand over winter.
To nominate a charity, customers can email aldiwinterfund@citypress.co.uk with the charity's name, location, and a brief explanation of why they deserve to win.
Liz Fox, national sustainability director at Aldi UK, said: "The winter period can be an incredibly challenging time for many people across the country and we are committed to doing everything we can to support those in need.
"We hope our shoppers can help us identify charities that could benefit from this donation to continue the incredible work that they do to help their local communities."
The nominations open on November 11 and close on November 24.
Food donations to local charities, food banks, and community groups can also be made at community donation points in Aldi stores nationwide.
